9.13.07
-- I'm writing/recording acoustic songs
I'm no longer doing music professionally, but I'm working on 2 new songs on my own for fun, so stay tuned.
5.1.07
-- End of The Monkery
Okay, a lot happened between the last update and this one. After 25 shows, 8 songs written and demo'd, 9 months living together, the band broke up. Thanks to everyone who supported, and The Monkery MySpace page and website are still up for your enjoyment.
4.11.06
-- YES! news, news.
I am extremely excited to report that the new band now has its full lineup. My close friend and longtime musical collaborator Adam Davie will be our bassist. And why didn't we think of this earlier? Well, he still has another year of college to finish.... But no! Now, he's doubling up on courses in summer school to actually finish college in August, at which point this band will be in full effect.
Our first gig is booked for July 26th, 2006, at the Williams Club in midtown Manhattan. We'll be playing with a temporary bassist to fill in while Adam gets his learn on.
Currently, we're working hard recording three songs to go on our first demo/EP release, which the "early reviewers" are praising as improved beyond the best works of One Blue Link. In the meantime, enjoy this pre-release MP3: Serotonin. We're actually re-recording this song for the EP, so stay tuned for the new and improved version of it (and the two other songs, Spinning and This Business) due out this summer.
And... we're tentatively calling ourselves Fact in Fiction. Email me to weigh in on the name and the song--I do want to hear from you, whoever you are.

Check it out, I'm on today's entry on itineratesurfer.com.
Sweet. Cool blog site by the way.

-- new year brings news update
Though my updates here are pitifully sparse, there has been rather
a lot going on with the band. Stu and I are incredibly psyched to
be reuniting with our friend, One
Blue Link's
Jeremy Da on the drums, who joined up in November. His immense
talent will be returning to us, from Paris, in full effect this June,
when we plan on being fully assembled and going all out. It's going
to be wayyyy off the hook. We're also very grateful to Jelani
for all his help drumming last summer and fall.
In the coming months, we'll continue writing songs (we have 4-5
done, 3-4 in the works), working them over harder than ever before,
and we'll also record a demo so we can get these tunes down
to be heard. Band name ideas, anyone? Email
me.
7.18.05
-- found a drummer
My band now has a drummer: there are 3 of us now. Stu and I have
welcomed Jelani Atu Wilson on drums... he's totally kickass. Next,
we're looking for a bassist. You can see our ad here.

-- 3 new pillars of my working life
So I'm out of school. I moved back to NYC, and I'm now pursuing 3
things.
First, I'm starting a rock band with Stu,
the singer from my old band (One
Blue Link). I'm on guitar, and Stu's singing. We're currently looking
for a drummer, and we'll soon
be searching for a bassist. We'll probably take a rhythm guitarist
too, if we can find a great one. We're taking this very seriously,
and I'm making this band my focus. I didn't look for a full-time job
at all because I wanted to have enough time and flexibility for the
band.
Second, I'm starting a recording business
called Creative Sound NYC.
I'll be recording people at my home, with a similar but improved setup
over what I've used to record the songs on this site. After doing the
recordings on this site plus dozens of others for other people's music,
I really know what I'm doing, certainly more than people in this city offering recording at $30/hour or less. For more info, go to my
new website (well, still under construction), www.creativesoundnyc.com.
Third, I'm also starting up a technical
consulting business called NYC
Computer Help. That means I'll go to people's houses to fix their
computers, teach them how to use them better, or perform a host of
other services. I've been doing this sort of thing for friends and
family for a long time, and after my studies in Computer Science
at Williams, I have a more in-depth understanding than a lot of people
in the field. The website's under construction at www.nyccomputerhelp.com.
5.31.05
-- new acoustic song
Here it is, the first song with my singing that I've ever shared with
the public. It's called By
Chance. I'm happy with the song, although
I do think my voice needs work. Maybe I'll take lessons.
By the way, I'm graduating from college on
Sunday. I'll be in NYC. Posting details on my plans soon....
11.12.04
-- Hold Me Back....... II
The Ill Informed, comin back at ya with 90% new lyrics, all re-recorded,
totally revamped classic. This was the first Ill Informed song that
fans really started rockin out to, back in 2000. It was time to revive
this blazing track to get y'all to "scream from your jeep."
Get this right now: Hold
Me Back REMIX
11.10.04
-- some random whatnot
First of all, I am bummed about that election. This
site might offer some kind of comfort to those who share my sentiments.
Secondly, this hot new web browser called Firefox is
amazingly good. Switch to it, and you'll get fewer adware invasions,
fewer viruses, fewer popups, the whole deal. And it's a better browser.
Finally, Hold Me Back 2 is coming soon.........
9.14.04
-- New Song, + What's Up
Well the song's not entirely new, since I did most
of it last summer
and around last Christmas, finished it up in June. It's an instrumental,
drum n bass influenced, with a lot of orchestral stuff going on. I
think it could fit in some film, somewhere, somehow. You let me know
what you think:
Psi
Storm
So, in other news... I haven't been able to access my
webspace in a really long time. Also, other than the above song, I
haven't been finishing recordings lately. What can I say? I studied
in Paris January to May. At least I've written some songs. Actually,
I've worked a bit with my friends at HWKY, and if your ears are ready
to be assaulted by witty profanity--and absurdity--beyond the limits
of imagination, go on to the HWKY
website and
check out "Scrotum Pole," which I did the beat for. The
lyrics remain too obscene for me to post the song on my site.
In the
next month, expect 2 new blazing Ill Informed tracks: The Oath and
the Hold Me Back remix. By the way, it's more than just a remix,
because almost all the lyrics are different. It's going to reflect
our progress on all fronts over the past 5 years, since 2000 when
we recorded the original Hold Me Back. I think a "before and after" will
impress.
12.22.03
-- Revised Mixes
I
revised the Arnold's Revenge and Speak Easy mixes. Little has changed,
but they should be a bit more pleasing to the ear now--I toned down
the high end, which I had boosted too heavily in mastering. Enjoy.
10.15.03
-- HWKY collaboration in the works
I've
started work on a beat for the next HWKY heat.
We're
now in negotiations over the lyrical severity of the vulgarity, so
stay tuned for the forthcoming rarity of an enoflow-hwky
verity.
10.7.03
-- The Governator is in
Arnold
has been elected governor of California, most likely to take office
in November. Just so you know, my song is politically neutral. Personally,
I like great actors (like Arnold) in movies, with politicians sticking
to politics. Just as I wouldn't want politicians who know
nothing about movies acting, I wouldn't want Arnold running my state.
He's always stated his political platform on a first-grade level
of simplification, and I think it's illegit and ultimately dishonest.
But
man, most of all I hope he's out of office in time to make T4.
10.2.03
-- site update
I
ameliorated the site layout, added a guestbook and added some great
artwork on the front page.
9.30.03 -- press
I'm
in the Williams Record today for the weekly "Artist Formerly Known As" interview.
9.29.03 -- enoflow.com launched
Welcome
everyone!
Well, I've never had a website dedicated to me and my own music, and
now here we are. Forgive the basic design. I'm not an artist--just
a musician.
I
just finished recording Arnold's
Revenge... go listen if you know what's good for you (seen this
before?)
Email
me with any thoughts at phil@enoflow.com
Thanks
for coming.
